Lahore to host PSL Final: All franchises agreed

Dubai: Pakistan Super League Chairman Najam Sethi finally announces that the PSL final will be held in Lahore Qaddafi Cricket Stadium on 5 March 2017. All franchises owners agreed to take PSL final to its rightful home.

A high-profile summit of Pakistan Super league’s all franchises owners and the administration of PSL held in Dubai on Monday to finalize the crucial decision of PSL final which is in great controversy over the venue.

Pakistan Cricket Board has a wish to come back international cricket in motherland and to fulfill the desire, it managed step forward by inviting international players to its home away from home (UAE). With the inauguration of PSL 2017, the PSL administration vows to run PSL final in Gaddafi Cricket Stadium Lahore, Pakistan.

Therefore, the Chairman Najam Sethi invited owners to give feedback about their views over venue of PSL final, all franchise response positively which means all franchises agreed to come Pakistan for final.

Najam Sethi announces after high-level meeting, “It has been heart-warming to see the dedication of all the owners to the cause of taking cricket back home and there is a realization that this final will be the first step in opening the gates to international teams starting to make the journey again.” He further added, “We are all committed to this mission and wish to have a thoroughly entertaining final where it should happen – in Lahore.”

PSL administration also said to owners to provide full proof security to their teams for final in Lahore. A close source also announces, the player who wishes to visit Pakistan for PSL will be awarded with additional amount of $ 10,000 to $ 20,000.

The owners have to collect feedback from their teams’ players while the Salman Iqbal-owner of Karachi Kings spoke in meeting that foreign players Kumar Sangakkara, Chris Gayle and Mahela Jayawerdene will not agree to visit Pakistan for final.

However, PSL management already planned for the final as they assured to franchises that there are 50 extra players that are not yet part of PSL, ready to visit Pakistan for final.
