ICC Team is Satisfied With the Security at Gaddafi Stadium for World XI Tour

Lahore: A two member team of International Cricket Council (ICC) has visited the Gaddafi Stadium to check the security measures taken by the Pakistani Government. Gaddafi Stadium will host 3 match series between World XI and Pakistan on 12th, 13th and 15th of this month.

Officials from Pakistan’s security forces and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) gave a briefing to ICC security team on the security arrangement in the city and around the stadium. ICC team was satisfied with the security measures taken by the local and federal government. The Pakistan Super League (PSL) final was also hosted by the same stadium earlier this year which was a great success for Pakistan as there was no international match after the attack on SriLankan team in 2009 expect one series with Zimbabwe.

The World XI team will land on the Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore on September 11. There will be a practice session in the evening for the World XI team which will be led by Faf du Plessis of South Africa. The first T20 match will be played on September 12, then second on 13 and the last match on 15.

It is considered to be a big achievement for Pakistan as there is no cricket from almost 8 years yet team Pakistan have just won Champions Trophy on 19th of June. Cricket fans from Pakistan are waiting for this moment for a long time and this is the reason that almost all the online tickets are sold out whereas tickets for the physical locations will be provided soon in different areas of the city.
