In a deepening probe into the promotion of illegal online gambling applications, a Lahore district court has summoned prominent influencer Aroob Jatoi—wife of renowned Pakistani YouTuber Saad ur Rehman, better known as Ducky Bhai—and their manager, Subhan, to appear for questioning.
The judicial magistrate issued the summons during a recent hearing, adjourning the proceedings until November 3, 2025, to allow for further testimony and evidence review.
The case, filed by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), centers on accusations that Ducky Bhai and his associates endorsed gambling apps through social media and video content, violating Pakistan’s strict laws against online betting and wagering.
Authorities allege that such promotions lured thousands of users into unregulated platforms, contributing to financial losses and social harm across the country. If convicted, the accused could face up to seven years in prison under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act .
Aroob Jatoi, a social media personality with a significant following on platforms like Instagram and TikTok, has been granted pre-arrest bail but must now present herself in court for the upcoming session. Subhan, identified as the couple’s manager, has also been called to clarify his role in the alleged endorsements. Ducky Bhai himself remains a key figure in the investigation, though specific details on his current status were not immediately available.
This development marks an escalation in Pakistan’s crackdown on influencer-led gambling promotions, which have surged amid the rise of mobile betting apps disguised as gaming platforms.
Legal experts note that the November 3 hearing could determine whether formal charges are filed, potentially leading to indictments against Jatoi and Subhan. As the case unfolds, it underscores the growing scrutiny on digital celebrities for their role in amplifying risky online activities.
The story is developing, and further updates will be provided as the court proceedings progress.
