Blueberries

Blueberries are known as an all-around superfood. They can be eaten on-the-go and have been shown to help protect the brain. This can lead to some improvement in motor skills and learning capacity. Studies on rats have shown this improvement. Just one cup of this powerful berry can help on test day.

Seeds and Nuts

Seeds and nuts are generally rich in vitamin E. This vitamin is important in lessening cognitive decline. Just an ounce of specific nuts or seeds before a test can improve performance. Some of these include hazelnuts, filberts, cashews, sunflower seeds, flaxseed, walnuts, Brazil nuts, almonds, peanuts, sesame seeds, and certain nut butter. Pomegranate Juice

Actual pomegranates will work too, but these tend to be difficult to eat, so the juice is best for students. Approximately two ounces on a test day can help to improve brain performance.

Fresh Tea

As long as you brew it yourself, it will work. This does include tea bags. Black tea “either iced or hot “contains caffeine. This can help to enhance memory, mood, and focus. Like dark chocolate, be careful though. Caffeine is a stimulant and can cause jitters and nervousness when you have too much. Try drinking on it throughout the day on a test day so that the caffeine levels are steady and you do not just get a quick jolt.
