Oahu Island Top Attractions

Hawaii’s most visited island, Oahu, is home to the world-famous Waikiki Beach and it offers much more for outdoor enthusiasts. Check out this simple and easy-to-follow guide for getting a US visa for Chile citizens.

Trip to the Famous Crater of Diamond Head

If you visit Hawaii and don’t make it to Diamond Head Crater, you can’t say you experienced the island. Hiking up Haleakala is one of the islands of Oahu’s most well-liked pursuits.

Just a short drive from downtown Honolulu, the crater of Diamond Head offers stunning views of Waikiki Beach and the Pacific Ocean.

If you get an early start, you can bypass the majority of the people and make the ascent to the peak in under 30 minutes via a paved walkway.

A steep series of stairs and a tunnel await you at the end of the trail, after which you’ll be rewarded with panoramic vistas over the Honolulu metropolitan area and the crater left behind by thousands of years of eruption.

Many concrete bunkers are atop the hill, and the path up was constructed at the start of the 20th century as part of the island’s defense facilities.

Complete Stairmaster in Hawaii

Way beyond the thousand-foot mark. There are 1048 wooden steps towards the Koko Head Crater, so be prepared to work those legs.

Once used to deliver military supplies, the cable car track that makes up the path has since been abandoned.

You can see Waikiki and Hanauma Bay from the peak, and the Koko Head Crater is on the other side. You can easily get your US visa for Czech citizens, obviously if you belong to the Czech Republic.

Visit Hanauma Bay for Snorkeling

Hanauma Bay is a must-visit for every snorkeler visiting Honolulu. From Honolulu, you can take any of several shuttles to go to the bay.

On all days but Tuesdays, visitors can explore the nature preserve from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. Everyone must pay $7.50 USD to enter, and snorkeling equipment can be rented or brought from home. Additionally, lockers are available for rent.

North Shore Surfers

North Shore, Oahu is a popular area for surfers, including some of the world’s most famous surfers, so if you’re in the mood for some beach time, you should definitely check it out.

There are many places along the North Shore where you can go for a swim if you feel like taking a dip in the water.

Trek to the Local Waterfalls

There are several beautiful waterfalls on Oahu, but Maunawili and Manoa are my favorites. The trail to Maunawili Falls is rugged and muddy, and it follows a creek. In order to reach the falls, you will need to ford the creek a few times.

It takes nearly an hour to get to the seven-meter waterfall, but once you do, you can cool off in the pool below.

The trailhead parking area is towards the end of Kailua’s Maunawili Road. Although there is no parking lot, you should have no trouble finding a parking spot in one of the surrounding areas.

Manoa Falls is another must-see waterfall in the area; you might recognize it as the setting for a few scenes in Jurassic Park.

The 46-meter Manoa Falls are accessible by a straightforward walk that occasionally becomes muddy. The whole distance of this hike is 2.6 kilometers, and it will take you roughly 45 minutes to complete it.
